For some time now Nike has emphasized the importance of supreme fit and worked hard to give runners the most natural ride possible with its sneakers. The introduction of Flyknit construction pushed us closer and now Nike has taken it a step further. Nike combined two of its most praised innovations – Flyknit and Free technology to create “compression fit with free flexibility” for a second-skin feel. A compression fit keeps the foot in place no matter how hard you run. Specific zones on the shoe were engineered to have more stretch than others and more firm that others to give proper flexibility and support exactly where needed. The popular Free technology gives runners a comfortable ride over long distances.

“Nike Free Flyknit is the ultimate expression of natural performance principles, combining a supportive, sock-like upper and a flexible midsole and outsole that move with the body,” says Sean McDowell, Creative Director for Nike Running. “The compression fit brings the foot closer to the sole for enhanced lockdown and propulsion.”

The Nike Free Flyknit 5.0 Uk will release this Thursday, August 1st at Foot Locker and online at for $160. Check the Launch Locator to see which stores will carry this release.

Check out how she mixes in her sportswear

Anna’s got you covered with styling ideas for days with her Not Just for the Gym column. Check out how she mixes in her sportswear this week with outfits that look great for everything from long weekend getaway to just gallivanting around.

This Nike top was initially one of my Mother’s Day picks, but I ended up grabbing one for myself. The light material is perfect for workouts, and the side tie is handy for when I want a more snug fit. On my feet I’ve got the Nike Free Flyknit 3.0 Uk, which features two iconic technologies for an ultra-cushioned run.

This Nike top offers versatility with so many potential outfit ideas. This time, I chose to wear it untied with flats (because apparently sometimes I have to), trousers and a jean jacket. I like the asymmetric cut of the shirt and already see myself getting a lot of wear out of it.

For a day of gallivanting in my neighborhood, I chose my new Roshes. The “fade” print is phenomenal – perfect for spring and summer. I wore it with the printed leggings I got a while back and a grey hoodie. The grey tones down the busy print on the leggings, and the Roshes add a nice pop of color.
